A man attacked with a baseball bat in York 38 years ago has died from traumatic brain injuries related to the beating, authorities said.

Craig Tschudy, 64, of Dallastown, was 26 when strangers mistaking him for someone else beat him in York. City police investigated the assault, but no suspects were ever identified or charged, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.

Tschudy died at a York County nursing home on June 5 from permanent traumatic brain injuries and related medical complications. His death was ruled a homicide.
