The 4 leading candidates sent a letter demanding debate moderators be friendly registered Rs. Melissa Hart, to her credit, said she's not scared of moderators asking tough questions.

This is hilarious because McSwain has been running non-stop ads citing what a tough, fearless Trump-appointed AUSA he was, not to mention a military vet. Dave White's ads tout his business accumen which I thought meant one needed the ability to be tough-minded and competitive. Barletta, of course, is a loud mouth bully like Trump so not surprising he's scared. Corman's ads are all about how he "took on (Gov) Wolf", but reporters apparently scare him.

(35,666 posts)The candidates don't even have to be in the same city. Each one goes to a broadcast studio in their own town, which I'm sure the local stations would be happy to provide. Do they need a studio audience? Well maybe, but they could each pack the audience with their own fans, and do away with a lot of acrimony and angry heckling from the other side.
