New state house and senate approved

by the Legislative Redistricting Commission by a 4-1 vote, the 2 Dems, the chairman (Nordenberg) and R State Senate Leader Kim Ward all voted in favor. R State House Leader Benninghoff voted against. There are 30 days now to challenge the map. It's likely the Rs will do that as the House map undoes a lot of their partisan gerry-mandering done over the last 30 years. It still somewhat favors Rs, but that's not good enough for them now.

FTR, the Congressional redistricting is now in the hands of the State Supreme Court after the state legislature and Gov Wolf couldn't agree on a new CD map.

They are working to bring in a committee like Michigan since DeWine and his flunkies took over the unbiased committee we voted for. Such slimy weasel's we have in state government.

It's much better and compact, mostly the northeastern corner of the county. It's still majority white, but down to 87% vs 94% or so. The partisan split favors Rs, but the registration numbers are much closer with a lot of I/no party registrations. This will be the first time in years that my current state rep will have a competitive election assuming Dems can field a good candidate.
