Trump was acquitted by a 57-43 Senate vote Saturday afternoon, but Mr. Toomey was among seven Republicans voting to convict the former president. That night, the York County Republican Committee approved censuring Mr. Toomey during its meeting.
The committee, in a press release, said that Mr. Toomeys voting record over the past four years runs counter to the principles of the GOP and that hes out of touch with the core beliefs of Pennsylvania Republicans.
For the past four years Sen. Toomey sat silently as a hyper-partisan Democrat Congress relentlessly attacked President Trump, impeaching him twice on fabricated charges, said state House Rep. Dawn Keefer, a Republican who represents parts of York and Cumberland counties and who proposed the resolution.
Given [Toomeys] recent support of the second unconstitutional impeachment effort against a president who is no longer in office, the York County Republican Committee has reached the limits of its frustration, she said.
Gee that's not how I remember it, Dawn Keefer. All I can remember are the hundreds of times Toomey gave rubber-stamp approval to every one of Chump's initiatives for 4 years.
Hyper-partisanship? Looking squarely at the Pennsylvania Repuke Party.

(2,589 posts)Republicans think they've found the new slur to replace "politically correct." And repeat it over and over and over again until it too will become a joke (or has it already?).
They can claim they are victims of cancel culture, yet they still find ways to go on TV, Tweet, write editorials, hold rallies and meetings and say what they want form the floors of the US Congress and state legislatures.

(9,731 posts)A particularly red part of Pennsyltucky. My only Trumpie relative is a cousin who lives in York Co.
Shes a retired teacher who owes her nice retirement package to the teachers union, and supports the party that hates unions and public schools.

(12,654 posts)It seems every awful political/religious story I see from PA is some event in York.
Still love the Pennsylvania Dutch food though.

(9,731 posts)Nice little town. I only have 1 relative left in the area, the Trumpie cousin. The politics is horrible but the food is awesome. When Grandma died I got all her church cookbooks from the 50s thru 70s, what a treasure.

(45,806 posts)own asses, & it won't be long either. I see DT becoming a real heavy stone around the necks of all those Pubs who think he's going to help them get re-elected & they're going to be scrounging for ways to make him go away.
