http://www.wgal.com/amp/article/if-you-request-a-mail-in-ballot-in-can-you-change-your-mind-and-vote-in-person-in-pennsylvania/33648018The quick answer is, I wouldnt - your name will appear on the voting rolls (the page you sign at the polling place) as having requested an absentee ballot and you will be required to vote by provisional ballot, which will not be counted until up to 7 days after the election.

(14,651 posts)We can hand it in here in Fla and I think in Tenn you cant. I think Sheltylover told me of that little fact. More ways to control the vote.

(14,651 posts)Supervisor of elections office. They had volunteers at the door (with masks on) and they checked that you signed the outside of the ballot. I then dropped the ballot in the slot and got my "I voted" sticker from the volunteer. In Florida the ballots are bar coded. I followed my ballot thru the system at the web site till it was actually counted. Easy peasy job done.
I hope it works as well in the next election...

(13,342 posts)Yes! Even if you requested a mail-in ballot, you can vote normally on Election Day IF:
you surrender your entire mail ballot package (including the ballot and larger return envelope) at your polling place, and
you sign a statement that you did not vote by mail.
If youre unable to do one or both of these things, you may still vote at your polling place on Election Day using a Provisional Ballot.

(14,337 posts)I knew you could bring your ballot to the polls in Florida. Always voted Absentee there. Haven't gotten my ballot yet here so worried about the mail. I did read that Monroe County is petitioning to have Vote Drop Off boxes set up around the county. Don't think I trust that.
I plan on driving to my Board of Elections and handing it to them.

(10,026 posts)mailing in the ballots because PA doesn't even start counting mail-in votes until election day. The concern is that more Rs are likely to vote in person and give Pissolini a chance to declare himself the winner before most of the Dem votes are counted.
Of course, in a functioning democracy, this wouldn't be a problem. However, even though we have a Dem governor, with the state Senate and House being R controlled, and our wanna-be-dictator incumbent threatening to use them to seize our electoral votes, we worry.

(117 posts)but instead of using it, i went to the polls to vote. When they pulled up my name, they saw I had been mailed an absentee ballot. I stated that I always do in case Im out of town but I did not use the absentee ballot. I just signed a document swearing I didnt use the absentee ballot and was allowed to vote.
