Tower Health begins furlough of 1,000 employees amid pandemic

Tower Health will begin furloughing about 1,000 full time employees, the health system announced Tuesday.

The decision is in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health system. Employees impacted by the decision work in a range of support, administrative and technical areas.

Tower Health experienced a 40 to 50 percent decline in revenue in addition to increased expenses related to the response to the virus, officials said.
