Oregon reports no new COVID-19 deaths, 217 new cases

PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- There are no new COVID-19 related deaths in Oregon, keeping the state’s death toll at 2,375, the Oregon Health Authority reported Monday.

OHA also reported 217 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 as of 12:01 a.m. Monday, bringing the state total to 164,164.

OHA reported that 18,191 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added Monday to the state immunization registry. Of this total, 10,067 doses were administered on Sunday and 8,124 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Sunday.

Oregon has now administered a total of 872,230 first and second doses of Pfizer, 824,313 first and second doses of Moderna and 39,092 single doses of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

1. On a tangentially related note I was able to get my first shot yesterday.

While I though my eligibility wasn't until April 12th yesterday morning I heard them mention a change in eligibility on the local news. I missed the specifics so I logged in and it said I was eligible as of 03/28. The first available appt was at 2:30. I selected it and it was accepted. The appointment was at the Convention center in Portland. It was very well organized and went smoothly. I was out of there at 3:07 and signed up for my second dose while there.

2. That was yesterday

Today my area Jackson County had one new death, we are still in high risk.

But that said people are getting vaccinated and most wearing masks which did surprise me since Medford is conservative.
