Fire damage to Grand River Dam Authority plant could hit $200 million

Damage from a July 1 fire at the Grand River Dam Authority’s main generating facility in Chouteau could reach $200 million, officials with the state-owned utility said Thursday.

GRDA recently completed an $86 million environmental upgrade to the 30-year-old plant, known as Unit 2.
