Oklahoma's Academy nominations...
On 8/21/23 Congressman Hern posted on FaceBook: I hosted a great Service Academy Day at my Tulsa office for students who are interested in going to one of our five military academies
Like Hern, I am encouraged that some of Oklahomas best and brightest seek admission to these elite institutions. A calling to support and defend the Constitution
is most admirable.
The problem: Rep. Hern, together with Senators Lankford and Mullin, are tasked with making nominations to these honorable institutions but have forfeited their credibility to do so.
The academies have strict honor codes that replicate or strongly paraphrase the Honor Code of West Point: "A Cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do."
The two Oklahoma Senators and my Congressman are insufficiently honorable to select students to attend the Academies.
Putting aside the fact that served in the Armed Forces, these politicians have LIED about the 2020 presidential election, in an attempt to CHEAT the winner of a free and fair election, to STEAL the American presidency for Trump. Even if their actions were interpreted as legitimate, can there be any doubt that they have TOLERATED the lying, cheating, and stealing, of Donald Trump.
Senators and Congressmen take a very similar oath to the Military. These men have disgraced their offices and should NOT be the ones to make academy nominations. Like Trump, they should be disqualified from even holding office as outlined in section 3 of 14th Amendment of the Constitution.
