Following the leak of a report showing the White House considers Oklahoma a red zone for COVID-19 cases and is privately urging the states government to institute far stricter measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic, such as a statewide mask mandate and the closure of all bars, local officials are expressing considerable frustration that theyre being kept in the dark about federal recommendations.
Is there a frustration that theres information out there about Tulsa that were finding out by accident? Yes, said Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum, who has expressed the same sentiment in the past, at a Thursday press conference. At least one previous federal document with recommendations for Tulsa has not been shared by the governors office. Both were obtained and published by the Center for Public Integrity.
The new report from the White House coronavirus task force, which counts Vice President Mike Pence as its chair and Dr. Deborah Birx as its coordinator, is dated Sunday, Aug. 16th, the same day as Birxs visit with Gov. Kevin Stitt in Tulsa. Following that meeting, Stitt said there wasnt really any recommendations that she made in this meeting, and said specifically that she had not recommended a statewide mask mandate nor a statewide bar closure.
Mask mandate needs to be implemented statewide to decrease community transmission, the leaked report reads, in a section on the first page labeled RECOMMENDATIONS. Bars must be closed, and indoor dining must be restricted in yellow and red zone counties and metro areas.

Really? They are shocked? They are shocked a POS sycophant didn't share a report showing our state is in worse shape?! REALLY?!?! This is the SAME governor who mocked this disease and has the distinct honor of being the FIRST governor to become infected after a rally from his hero in one of our major cities!
Check out the graphs, but take blood pressure meds first or have a couple of shots...you gonna be pissed!

(4,613 posts)They set up 16 covoid isolation rooms. 12 are currently filled. 8 of them from the football team, who said publicly they stopped practice. NOPE. Only out of public view. The players are required to spend at least 8 hours a day in the gym.
The rule was you can't move on campus without documentation of a negative test. The foreign students started moving in this week WITHOUT it. Now ANOTHER dorm is being hastily set up to quarantine them. They are only required to stay in that room when they are on campus. They are free to do anything else they like.
Can't verify but a sorority house that was open at the first of the week is now closed with no official explanation. Rumor is a few of the sisters were sick and the lot of them were sent home because they refused to quarantine.
Most furloughed workers returned 7-5 to make the campus ready to open. They were told the rules would be strictly enforced as far as as masking and social distancing. Not true. A person in the registrar's office and one in the mail room refuse to do either, have been reported many times, and are still there.
I don't know how long Stitt thinks he can keep this covered up.
