Cleveland City Councilman Kerry McCormack announces he is not seeking re-election
CLEVELAND — Cleveland City Councilman Kerry McCormck announced in a post on social media that he is not seeking re-election.
“There is no greater privilege than being elected by the people in the community that you love,” he said in the video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
McCormack represents Cleveland’s Ward 3. According to the council website, he has been the majority leader of the council since January 2022.
He is the chair of the transportation and mobility committee and a member of the finance and development, planning and sustainability committees as well as the Greater Cleveland AIDS Funding Collaborative.
“While I have a lot more to say over the weeks to come, I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who supported me over the years and for all of the great work we’ve done together,” he said in the video. “Thanks so much.”
