Medina school board votes to send emergency levy to ballot

MEDINA, Ohio -- For the third time in a row, the Medina Board of Education is asking voters to approve an operating levy for the Medina City School District.

Board members voted during a recent meeting to place the 10-year, 7.5-mill emergency operating levy on the November ballot.

“Basically, we provide the ballot language and then the (Medina County) Board of Elections places it on the ballot,” said Treasurer David Chambers.

Superintendent Aaron Sable explained that placing the levy on the ballot requires two resolutions, according to state and federal law.
