New texts allegedly show Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted leading FirstEnergys push for House Bill 6
https://ohiocapitaljournal.com/2024/06/24/new-texts-allegedly-show-ohio-lt-gov-jon-husted-leading-firstenergys-push-for-house-bill-6/
From the article: "Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted allegedly led the charge with now-indicted FirstEnergy executives to pass legislation that was the result of the largest corruption scheme in state history, according to newly released text messages. Husted denies knowing House Bill 6 was the result of bribery.
FirstEnergy spent $61 million dollars in exchange for H.B. 6, legislation giving their failing utility company a $1 billion bailout.
We kept DeWine in the hot seat last week.
On Sunday, new texts revealed that he asked Jones for money, which he then received via a dark money PAC."

(314 posts)1. It runs deep
The corruption in this state (Ohio) runs deep! If we could only change the political makeup of our state legislature! DeWine is up to his neck in this FE scandal and Husted is right there with him. Without getting into the details, they are also into shady behavior with the state teachers retirement system. As always, follow the money!
