snip-"Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) has drawn speculation in recent months that he could be chosen as former President Trumps running mate as the first-term senator solidifies his status as one of Trumps top supporters.
Vance has reportedly been included on Trumps short list for possible vice president picks, though he avoided saying whether he would take the job if it was offered to him."
snip-"I think there are so many reasons I was wrong about Trump, but Im happy that I was wrong about Trump, Vance told New York Magazine in an interview during his 2022 Senate run.
Vance was trailing in the polls for the GOP nomination for Senate through most of the race until Trump endorsed him just weeks before the primary. He won the nomination by more than 9 points over his closest opponent and went on to defeat then-Rep. Tim Ryan (D) by 6 points for the seat.:

(2,312 posts)IMO three questions TFG asks himself are (1) is the VP candidate more photogenic than I am, (2) does the VP candidate come across as smarter than me, and (3) does the VP candidate possess any semblance of a spine?
Vanity demands that he is the smartest and best-looking man in the room, which means he has to surround himself with men who look like Bannon and sound like Jr. And after Pentz, literally any ability to do anything other than sing Dear Leader's praises when told to do so (and then SHUT UP until told to praise Dear Leader again) is likely disqualifying. Vance fails on at least two counts.
Not sure who that leaves (Ted Nugent?), and I'm pretty much limiting the selection criteria to men there. Not sure what his VP criteria is for women, something something boobs something adoring looks something make Iva...er Melania jealous something, maybe. Just spitballing.

(11,134 posts)Pence did the necessary but often complicated and tedious Presidential work in the background, while Trump got the media and social media attention, schmoozed with foreign heads of State, played lots of golf, demanded and accepted bribes, and enriched himself/family/and friends. Vance isn't that competent. I can see Vance in charge of a department Trump wants to destroy (environment, civil rights, housing, labor).

(5,005 posts)then I'd say it would be a shrewd move. But, given this is Trump we're talking about, how does one even go about assigning a word like "shrewd" to that bloviating puss bag?
Vance certainly seems less desperate than Noem, but she's better looking, so who knows.
