(2,903 posts)1. Like Cooper, he can get great recruits, based on rankings, but they rarely develop when under his tutelage.
2. Like cooper, arrogant and either unwilling or unable to make half time adjustments. Everyone could see that the new right guard was getting blown up on every snap. The right tackle was also God awful story. Does he adjust and run to the left side of the line. Nope. Let's keep getting the RB blown up in the backfield running right.
2b...right side of line getting obliterated, do you go extra tight end and chipping RB on that side and max protect to let Egbuki work his magic? Nope. Use the stud tight end, Stover...nope. let's protect with five and get the second string QB killed.
3. Cooper with a beard almost lost multiple games the last few seasons, including the Notre Dame win, because like many dunning Kruger idiots that he is too smart and talya play caller to be stopped on fourth down, so don't kick the FG. Now, with a doink kick, he will likely be more adamant that FG are bad and treat 5th down like a Madden game.
4. This is really the first year that all of the roster is his work with no holdovers from before. Look at the debacle on offend. The guy who went into the transfer portal absolutely sucks. If he thinks it will be easier to throw to Syracuse WR instead of Marvin Harrison Jr and Egbuki and Stover, he is as dumb as he was inaccurate throwing the ball. The offensive line couldn't dominate even bad run defenses. In past years, any RB could be successful because the holes were big and consistently where they were designed. These guys just cannot block well.
5. How does a slow mediocre walk on RB light them up in the second half?
6. When the defense is offsides, how does the safety give up a big play? Tackle the guy if you have to 15 yards is better than fifty.
7. They did not improve as the year went on...that's on the head coach.
I sure hope some moronic NFL owner who knows nothing about football but has his hands all over the franchise will try to lure Cooper with a beard to fix the commanders, panthers. Browns, raiders or similar.

(4,635 posts)Personally, I can't stand the ungroomed "devil" coach "Cooper with the beard" and I've never seen the Buckeyes play worse. I'm never going to get back the time it took to play last night's game, it was that bad! Were the players sending Day a message? Defense sure made Missouri look at first like messed up chaos agents, and in the end, like wee Wile Coyotes with a cheap box of Acme arm products on a mission. Worked for them, though. Poor tired Buckeyes--where'd the coverage go or only good for 3 quarters???
It was clear that the replacement QB was not prepared and was hurtin' if not painfully injured. Is it possible McCord just played OSU football as a lark? Last time I checked, Harrison, not a QB, was still a Buckeye and should have played in the team effort to win this important Cotton Bowl game--phooey, won't be following his NFL club or career--he's as self-righteous and arrogant as Ryan Day but, you know, the NFL's Bigmoney has been talking to him--he should take on a safer sport if he fears an injury--maybe curling???
That said, the Cleveland Browns were downright exciting to watch the night before...the whole team was in for that win! Flacco was amazing at making every offensive player shine! Throw some reliable defensive players in for the win too!
See, I have this CT theory that when there's a "clock problem," Brownies lose -- so I was thrilled that the Dog Pound got to party hearty at a Browns game win! Good game, guys!

(2,903 posts)Tested my buddy how Iowa team got into the offensive uniform for the buckeye game.
It was awful, the son and I turned it off early to play a game of poetry for neanderthal with the family.
Never understood sitting out a bowl game. You know Harrison Jr has a ginormous insurance policy for injury. And receivers get huge second and third contracts. The first contract for him will be chump change compared to the real money at year 5&9.
It's not like a RB where a first round rookie deal might be the best contract.
