I was 16 when it was a hit. I thought it was a cautionary song. Fast forward: rwnj think it's an anthem:

1. My big sis had this 45 in her collection when I was 6 and she was 11.

I put it on so much. I didn't know what it meant, but I loved the song and the heartfelt vocal delivery.

2. It is a great song from a terrific group

and then as now, a message that if you can't be good, be careful.

If Ohio doesn't pass Issue 1, I think there should be a law made that men are not allowed to solicit women for sex-no sweet talk, no begging, no whiney excuses to get unprotected sex, no sex for pay, absolutely no sex for men. A law like that would stop all unwanted pregnancies.
I'm only a little sarcastic. I loved my husband, but after reading so many lines guys used to seduce a woman, I realized he hit them all. It took me 50 years to realize he and I fell into the age-old trap of men pursuing, women refusing, until something clicked and the people involved in the relationship agreed to go all the way.

4. Yes it did

There are many children from unmarried parents, but the stigma was less. The rwnj want to return to that horrible cultural norm. Shame is another form of abuse and abuse gets the rwnj off, men and women both.
