heading-In a 3-2 decision, the Ohio Ballot Board rejected using the full amendment proposal text for voters to see, and the approved summary language leaves out protecting contraception, fertility treatment and miscarriage care

snip--"In a 3-2 split decision Thursday, the Ohio Ballot Board rejected using the full text of a proposed reproductive rights amendment on the ballot in November, adopting instead summary language written by the Ohio Secretary of States Office that was criticized for being incomplete and inaccurate.
The boards approval of the language which is now titled Issue 1 for the November general election was the next step in the process of voters deciding whether or not the Ohio Constitution will include the right to abortion, as well as contraception, fertility treatment, miscarriage care, and continuing ones own pregnancy. Those last four items were all left out of the language approved by the ballot board majority.
snip--"LaRose has been vocal in his opposition of the amendment, even saying the effort around the previous Issue 1, which would have changed the threshold to approve a constitutional amendment had it not been roundly defeated, was targeting the abortion rights fight specifically."

The group supporting a constitutional amendment on reproductive rights will take their arguments against a deceptive summary approved and written by the Ohio Ballot Board to the state supreme court.
Ohioans United for Reproductive Rights announced Monday afternoon that they plan to file a lawsuit Monday asking the Ohio Supreme Court either to order the ballot board to use the full text of the amendment on ballots this November, or to correct blatant inaccuracies.
The summary that was adopted by the Ballot Board is intentionally misleading and fails to meet the standards required by Ohio law, said OURRs Lauren Blauvelt in a statement announcing the move."
