is the word. I pray it is true.

My husbands plant will lay off all workers except 1st shift and maintenance due to the GM strike.
These are not high wage workers and will face terrible times...please send good thoughts and prayers if you will for these folks and their families. I pray this strike will be over soon or many of us in my area including my husband and myself will face unemployment. I have to go out but will answer posts upon my return...hoping for an end to the GM strike. The economy is weakening with manufacturing at its lowest since 2008...I hope to God we are not facing a recession. Of course if you lose your job then you are in your own personal 'recession'. Stay strong!

under The Orange Turd is exactly that, an illusion. Sure, jobs are everywhere ..... part time low paying jobs with no benefits ..... America is a great place to live if you're wealthy, not so much if you're a working stiff. Ever since Reagan fired the air traffic controllers ........ working people's rights have gone downhill ever since. We really need a good Dem administration to restore the rights of working people everywhere and to make sure they have the basics to live on, tackle the problem of extreme income inequality, install a more fair tax system, and get rid of this "gig" economy where one person needs to work 2 or 3 jobs just to stay afloat!

Good luck to you, Demsrule86. Lordstown really took a toll on this area. I am really stumped as to why anyone living here would even buy a GM product after what they did to our area.

headhunter Monday...sigh. We were on disability until June...so we are not in great shape to weather this...but one step at a time...he had surgery. Thank God, he is OK...made a full recovery. I heard that there is a chance one of the things agreed to is that lordstown would get the electric engines...don't know if it is true...family member still at GM...hubs retired some years ago...he started at 21...
