Dayton shooter removed himself from university for a self-proclaimed lack of 'maturity'

Newly released records show that Connor Betts, the 24-year-old gunman in Sunday morning's mass shooting in Dayton's Oregon District, had previously been a student at Wright State University.

His younger sister, Megan Betts, 22, who was a victim in the mass shooting, was also a Wright State University student.

Connor Betts withdrew from the university in 2014 after a few months due to a lack of "maturity," according to an email sent by Betts himself.

"I write to inform you that I must withdraw from Wright State," he wrote in an email to his academic advisor, "as I do not yet have the maturity to handle college."
