Ohio House legislative aides getting 10 percent pay bump

Legislative aides for Ohio House members are getting a 10 percent — $3,500 — salary increase, House Speaker Larry Householder announced.

The base salary of a House aide is rising from $35,000 to $38,500, and all current House legislative aides will get a matching increase.

Householder also is working on raises for administrative aides, pages, constituent aides and other administrative positions.

“Since I was elected speaker, I have made administrative changes to staffing levels and created staffing efficiencies that make this pay increase possible,” Householder said. “I want to reinvest those savings in the House’s most important asset, which is people.”
