Most Republican county in Ohio just flipped nine seats blueResistance to Trump is filtering down to local offices even in a county Trump won by over 30 points.
By Matthew Chapman NOVEMBER 11, 2017
On Tuesday, Nov. 7, Democrats delivered shattering victories in the Virginia and New Jersey elections, and nationwide brought the total of state legislative seats flipped from red to blue since Donald Trump was elected to 32.
A less touted, but no less impressive, story is how Democrats have been flipping county and municipal offices in unexpected places.
Going into this week, Democrats had already made gains this year in local races in Illinois, New Mexico, and Virginia. And on Tuesday, local Democrats scored big in Ohio.
One of the most telling signs of growing Democratic strength is the results of elections in Ohios Warren County.

A filthy rich republican will NEVER be anything but a sworn enemy of a worker. I hope lots of Trump voters finally learned this lesson.

(6,797 posts)I would have to say the whole corner of northwest Ohio is. Normally during an election results are 75 percent republican if not more. Usually no democrats even run because they know they don't have a chance. It's the kind of place where people steal any democratic signs and fly their confederate flags in the beds of their trucks

Democrats have had no meaningful presence in county or local offices since the 1980s, and rarely even bother running candidates at all.

(5,196 posts)whereas his home county- Hamilton county, including most of Dem.-leaning Cincinnati- is not sufficient for him to win as a Republican.
John Boehner, former speaker, represented Warren Co. Ohio, for many years.

(52,266 posts)These are very good signs. We have to get people to listen to Dems then get the vote out and win with large margins.
