Cleveland State, Ohio State University ban dorm window posters. Why?

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State and Ohio State universities have banned college students from posting signs and banners on their windows, a longtime tradition of expression on politics and current events.

The policy on "window art" was altered this year at Ohio State. CSU modified its window policy last year.

The ban may have been imposed because residence halls are located on busy streets, allowing the general public and passing drivers to see dorm windows.

Or it could have been a safety measure - so emergency workers could see in rooms.
