NORWALK, Ohio -- After just over three weeks of Donald Trump in the White House, M. Elizabeth "Liz" Smith of Norwalk apparently had seen enough.
Smith, 87, died Monday at a hospice center while surrounded by family, according to her obituary.
And it's in that obituary that Smith, who was active in the Huron County Democratic Party, sees a silver lining at the end of a long life:
"Liz is smiling now, not to be living during the Trump presidency," it says.

I read the comments, and was shocked and disgusted by this one I have copied below - how dare someone, who I am guessing did not even know Ms. Smith, presume to make a political statment in the online memory book the family has started. Notice there is no name attached to this opportunistic statement -
My condolences to all of Liz's family.
Though I think Liz is smiling that Trump is now President. Why? Because President Trump respects the sanctity of life. President Trump is clearly Pro Life, so much that on his first day in office he signed a decree barring US federal funding for foreign NGOs that support abortion. And Liz being a practicing Catholic, former Eucharistic minister, had to be Pro Life, and respect the sanctity of life.
The Catholic Church opposes all forms of abortion procedures whose direct purpose is to destroy an embryo, blastocyst, zygote or fetus, since it holds that "human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception". From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.
