Mentor bus driver to retire after jury awards $1.26 million in wrongful death

Mentor School District bus driver Gary McClintick has decided to retire after a jury awarded $1.26 million plus an additional $7,500 in punitive damages to Timothy Bruck, the husband of Jennifer Cribbs, in a wrongful death lawsuit.

That lawsuit was filed in 2015 against McClintick and the Mentor School Board.

The five-day trial took place recently before Lake County Common Pleas Court Judge John P. O’Donnell.

Cribbs 62, died as a result of injuries sustained Nov. 6, where her car collided with the bus driven by McClintick, as reported previously.
