Road sales tax won't make November ballot

A sales tax, or any other funding source, proposed to pay for $249 million in Bismarck road projects won't make the Nov. 8 election, according to Mayor Mike Seminary.

"It's too late now to get it on the ballot. Nobody tried to lead the effort," Seminary said.

Survey responses on road infrastructure funding options collected during three public meetings this summer were light.

"The survey showed strong support for the sales tax," Seminary said. "It's not going to a vote this year. We are waiting to see what the leaders in the community would like.
