Objected to AZ and PA, both
Richard Hudson (R-NC)
David Rouzer (R-NC)
Ted Budd (R-NC)
Dan Bishop (R-NC)
Madison Cawthorn (R-NC)
Objected to one (I assume PA)
Virginia Foxx (R-NC)
Gregory Murphy (R-NC)
Sadly, where I now live, there are still Cawthorne signs all over - what a piece of shit he is.
Anyone reading anything recent on statements from the above?

(1,093 posts)He spoke at the pre-insurrection rally about an hour before Trump.
In an interview with WLOS he said he's "not responsible."
https://wlos.com/news/local/i-dont-feel-i-had-any-responsibility-for-them-attacking-the-capitol-cawthorn-says
I called his DC office this morning and had to leave a message...told him that he was backing a loser and he needed to grow up and be responsible.
Democratic organizations throughout District 11 are working to get a candidate that can take him on for 2022. Asheville and Sylva/Cullowhee are the only two progressive pockets in the District so I'm pushing for a more moderate candidate. Also, we need a "local"---someone from the mountains with deep roots. And then we need to raise a lot of money. The Republicans are making Cawthorn into a poster boy--wheelchair, bootstraps and all that. Because we haven't had a Democrat since 2010, we won't get national or state money to help.
I remember you posting pre-election about getting involved....Henderson County will be working on their organization in the coming weeks and they could probably use you in your precinct! I've been active as a precinct officer for years and it is the true grass roots! It's a great way to get to know your neighbors! It's also great to have like-minded people to talk to. (just like being on DU!)

(1,093 posts)I'd be up for lunch or dinner in Asheville! (I haven't been in a restaurant since March...my cooking is good but it's nice to be waited on sometimes!)
Here in Jackson County we're still doing all of our meetings via Zoom. Tougher to get new people involved.

(2,000 posts)He would have taken part in the invasion, like that other newly elected congressthug who has since resigned. I have no doubt.
I'm turning 60 this year, don't expect to get the vaccine any time soon. Perhaps we could do an outside meet up in the spring, something to look forward to!
These thoughts keep popping into my head, about the 1938 broadcast of war of the worlds, and the hysteria that ensued. Part of me feels like I'm living in a parallel universe, where these crazies have heard and believed what's been broadcast for 4+ years. They believe they are defending America against evil forces (thanks to 45+ , minions)
Another part of me thinks we need to deprogram these folks, which will be a Herculean task.
Still, their social media platforms of hate are being watched, dismantled, shifted. Perhaps we can run deprogramming videos once we have a better handle on who and where they are.
And yet another part of me would like to see a horror parody of what would happen if the coup succeeded, like the movie it's a wonderful Life meets stepford wives with the worst of wild west thrown in.. That would shock and shake up a lot of folks. And scare the majority of us.
Thanks for posting this information. Our new representative should be removed, as should the others. Let them object to NC elections that just gave them all 2 year terms! They have no business objecting to election results in other states. I'm actually surprised and pleased that neither NC senator jumped on this bandwagon.
