Two former Buncombe County employees who pleaded guilty to corruption charges have reported for federal prison.
Mandy Stone, a longtime employee who served as the county's top administrator for a year, is being held at a minimum-security camp in Alderson, West Virginia.
Michael Greene, Buncombe's former business intelligence manager and son of ex-County Manager Wanda Greene, is being held in McCreary, Kentucky. The high-security facility has an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp.
How long will Stone, Greene be in prison?
No dates are listed for their expected release. Stone was sentenced to 33 months and Greene was sentenced to six months for their involvement in corrupt activity uncovered by an ongoing federal investigation.
Each had pleaded guilty to a lone conspiracy charge.
