Man accused of stealing $275,000 from Hanesbrands in Winston-Salem
A Winston-Salem man was arrested Thursday after he was accused of embezzling more than $275,000 from Hanesbrands Inc., authorities said.
Edward Hilton Graham, 50, of West First Street was charged with two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, Winston-Salem police said.
Since October 2017, detectives have been investigating a report of embezzlement from Hanesbrands Inc. of Winston-Salem, police said. Investigators looked into allegations of misuse of the company’s money.
Graham was accused of converting the money from the business to personal use since 2015, police said. An arrest warrant alleged that Graham obtained $150,375 from Hanesbrands for leases and rental properties for two apartments in New York City.
