I have been watching the weather all night wondering if the snow would actually reach across I-95. There is one small spot on the radar showing snow. I zoom in on the map and it's, wait for it...Snow Hill! I am curious if you have any snow this morning. How much? How many inches? What size flakes? Do you have pictures? Is it possible it may actually "stick" around? Did you send your fur babies out to play in it? How did they react? What about your children, the little ones, did they get to see it for the first time? I wonder, a lot, about many things NC and elsewhere. Tonight, I am thinking about this great state and the wonderful resilient people here, dusted softly and sweetly with the powerful image of snowflakes, rising to take back our state.
Thank you for visiting the NC group. Like many other places, we have our warts. But we have snowflakes tonight. And to me, they're beautiful.

(222,226 posts)My grandmother retired to NC so I've spent a lot of time there. And then my cousin went to school there and stayed. It's such beautiful country, I even thought of moving there myself. As for the snow, people react much differently than they do here in New York. I don't enjoy driving in snow, but in NC it was even more nerve wracking since people tend to lock their brakes - even if it's just "a dusting." And when there's a real storm, people seem to just stay home, not that I blame them. I asked my cousin what she does, since she's an RN at a major hospital, labor and delivery, and she said that they just wait for it to melt...
Here's hoping you don';t get a major storm. We're expecting one at the beginning of the week and I'm dreading it. So much for Spring.

(25,483 posts)We don't handle snow or rain well, traffic wise, in my neck of the woods. This event shouldn't be so bad. The temperature is above freezing here and expected to rise. The worst snow event that I can remember was in March though. The poor flowers, birds and bugs must be so confused. I was looking at my blueberry bushes today with hopeful enthusiasm. I hope you don't have too much trouble. Thank you for the reply.

(454 posts)It was sprinkling with snow on my way to church early service, so I enjoyed being out in it very much. Once the service was over and I was back outside, it was snowing a lot harder, though sticking only to the grass and bushes and not the roads. A couple carrying a very small child of maybe 1 to 2 years old were just ahead of me on the sidewalk, and the child was soooo happy and fascinated by the snow, she was crying out, waving her arms, and laughing with delight. It was so cute and funny to see! The parents told me it was only her second time experiencing anything like this, so still very new.
I love snow, so understood very much how she felt. I was trying to catch some of the snowflakes on my tongue and laughing myself!
