Doug Brown of Mocksville was running four hours late for work, but he had a joke for his boss Friday afternoon.
"I told him I was crying over spilled milk," said Brown, who spent most of those four hours sitting in traffic after a dairy truck overturned on Interstate 40 eastbound just inside Forsyth County.
As of 4:30 p.m., the right lane of I-40 remained closed near Harper Road Exit 182 after about 28,000 pounds of non-dairy creamer spilled on to the highway, Fire Chief Jerry Brooks of the Clemmons Fire Department said.
The N.C. Department of Transportation said the road will be closed until at least 5 p.m. as crews work to clean it up.
