🚨 Important! Update on Early Voting & Ballot Delivery!
Karen Brinson Bell, executive director of the State Board of Elections, during virtual press conference today at 11 a.m. Friday, November 1, discussed the ongoing in-person early voting period in North Carolina, as well as preparations for Election Day 2024.
Two topics of note were
1) NC has smashed the 2020 election early voting records and
2) Returning ballots by US mail is NOT recommended at this time.
Ms. Bell stressed the importance of delivering ballots by hand delivery.
She also emphasized that dropping them off at early voting, election day voting and local board of elections county offices are the most secure and definitive ways to return ballots for counting.
This is in order to insure that they are received on time as there is no longer a grace period for the receipt of ballots in North Carolina.
