Bill Clinton to campaign for Harris in eastern NC with rural bus tour
Former President Bill Clinton will visit North Carolina next week to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Clinton will headline a bus tour across the eastern part of the state, the campaign announced Thursday, with a focus on reaching rural voters in the battleground Tar Heel State.
The 42nd president’s trip on the campaign trail will come after Harris visits Greenville for an event Sunday afternoon. Together, the two efforts mark an aggressive new push by the Democratic ticket to win over rural voters in a region that has voted solidly Republican in recent presidential elections.
President Donald Trump’s campaign has also mounted a bus tour across the state this week, visiting campaign offices and county party headquarters with Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-New York) and several other formal Trump administration officials.
