John Bolton (I) wins village of North Syracuse mayoral election

North Syracuse, N.Y. - Voters in the village of North Syracuse picked their next mayor in a special election held on Tuesday.

John Bolton won the election with 244 votes, according to preliminary results posted on Facebook by the Onondaga County Board of Elections.

Bolton, a village board member of three years, was the only candidate for mayor on the ballot.

A total of 81 votes went to write-in candidates. The results did not specify how many of those votes went to write-in candidate Lisa St. Germain, who is currently serving her third four-year term on the village board.
