County legislators Brown, Mezey, Pillar announce re-election campaigns

ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins County Legislators Greg Mezey, Veronica Pillar and Randy Brown have announced they are seeking re-election this year. All three are vying for their second terms.

Mezey, a Democrat representing District 13 (Dryden), announced his re-election campaign on Ithaca’s Morning News on WHCU earlier this month. He will be running to represent the redrawn District 11.

“I’m excited to get back to work if the voters of the western portion of Dryden will have me,” Mezey said on the show.

Mezey was first elected in November 2021 and took office the following January. He is chair of the Housing and Economic Development Committee, and his re-election announcement included an endorsement from former county legislature chair Martha Robertson.
