BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - People in the North Country are bracing for the impact of Hurricane Beryl.

Governor Kathy Hochul is warning residents all across the state - but especially in the North Country - to prepare for potential flash flooding.

Hochul also warns New Yorkers about severe thunderstorms, hail, and potential power outages.

She has asked state agencies to prepare for public safety and recovery efforts ahead of the rain.

and near creeks, rivers, and ponds. Weather people said there is potential for severe thunderstorms and maybe even some tornadoes.
