Mayor Adams at the Broadway opening of "New York, New York"

The new Kander & Ebb musical, "New York, New York," opened on Broadway last night. It was a stunning theatrical experience!

After the curtain calls, Susan Stroman who directed and choreographed the show, acknowledged all of the people who contributed to the show: the actors, musicians, stage hands, ushers, box office staff and more. Importantly, she graciously thanked the producers who secured the millions of dollars to finance this extravagant love letter to the city of New York.

Then Mayor Adams came onstage and quoted the script, "Don't bet against New York!" The audience went wild.

It's a better slogan than "I love New York," in my opinion.
