winningStarting Monday, New Yorkers will no longer need to show proof of vaccination for indoor activities like dining and kids wont have to wear face masks in school anymore, Mayor Adams announced as coronavirus infections continue to drop statewide.
The rollback of the pandemic precautions was expected, as Adams said earlier this week that the indoor Key2NYC vaccine mandate and school masking requirement would go away this Monday barring an unforeseen spike in COVID-19 cases.
Still, by making it official at a Friday morning press conference in Times Square, the mayor marked a major reversal in the citys approach to fighting the virus, which continues to kill dozens of people in New York every day.
This is truly an Arnold Schwarzenegger moment. Well be back, Adams said, adding that he believes scrapping the restrictions is about getting our economy back on track.

(328 posts)Lifting the vaccine requirement is a setback in trying to getting people vaccinated. He says most New Yorkers are vaccinated. What about all the tourists and red state visitors I dont want to eat next to them without knowing their status. I know a lot of people young and old who will only eat outside if the restaurant chooses not to check. Its all political with and money with him. Dont forget he used to be a republican

(6,897 posts)Has been a horrid mayor of NYC since day one of his term. I had him listed last in the ranked ballot for the primary. In the general election I voted 3rd party, because both he and Sliwa were awful choices.
