AG Eric Schneiderman hires Bernie Sanders' consulting firm to boost progressive profile

ALBANY — The state attorney general has hired Bernie Sanders’ digital-consulting team at a time he’s upping his progressive profile with lawsuits and attacks on President Trump’s agenda.

AG Eric Schneiderman, who is expected to seek a third term in 2018 and has also been mentioned as a potential gubernatorial candidate, turned to Revolution Messaging to help raise funds and build on his campaign's social media presence, a source close to him said.

“It certainly drew our attention,” the source said of the firm’s work with Sanders’ bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Revolution Messaging bills itself on its website as “a full-service agency fighting for progressive causes.”

and although it wouldn't surprise me if he runs for governor at some point, it would a bit if he primaried Gov Cuomo and last I knew Cuomo has said he's running for a third term, although I suspect that may, at least partially be, to keep a high profile to make a try for president.

Although my 1st choice for a NY presidential candidate would be Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, both Schneiderman and Cuomo would be decent 2nd choices if they were to run.

I must say that this part from the article gave me a laugh ...
State Republican Party spokeswoman Jessica Proud accused Schneiderman of having “completely abused his office for political purposes.”
Her comment is a classic Trumpster diving Republican's 'deflection' and definitely a case of 'the pot calling the kettle black'.

The fact is that Schneiderman's very good at his job and Trump's done plenty of probably illegal BS to get his attention.
