Retired cop from Otisville charged with killing four men in Chester
WHITE PLAINS - Four Middletown men who disappeared in April in Chester were murdered by a retired police officer from Otisville, federal prosecutors announced Tuesday.
Nicholas Tartaglione, 49, was arrested on Monday, charged with killing Martin Luna, Urbano Santiago, Miguel Luna and Hector Gutierrez in April in furtherance of a conspiracy to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine, according to a federal indictment.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of new York said Tartaglione is retired from the Briarcliff Manor Police Department. Prosecutors say Tartaglione killed the four men at the Likquid Lounge in Chester. According to prosecutors, Tartaglione participated in the killing the four men, "some of whom were just in the wrong place at the wrong time."
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Prett Bharara said he hopes the arrest will bring some measure of comfort to the men's families.
