Poll Finds Bill de Blasio Does Not Deserve Re-ElectionBut Still Stomps His Rivals

By Will Bredderman • 11/16/16 4:15pm

A Quinnipiac University survey released today found that nearly half of New Yorkers think Mayor Bill de Blasio doesn’t deserve re-election—and the Democrat who stands the best chance of toppling him is his old rival, former Council Speaker Christine Quinn.

The poll of 1,138 city residents found 49 percent of respondents do not believe the mayor has earned four more years, compared with 39 percent who do. But his 63 percent approval rating among Democrats—77 percent among African-Americans—for now appears to insulate him against the threat of a primary challenge

"Cause Stringer is a ringer. Also, I would like to see how DeBlasio would do in a poll without Cuomo's nasty games and attempts to dirty DeBlasio up. I don't always love what the mayor does but in a city like this I think he's damned if he does and likewise if he doesn't, and the fact that Cuomo is so afraid he'll run for gov is telling.
