Attack ads intensify as Keller (D) - White (R) Albuquerque mayoral runoff enters final days

Albuquerque's mayoral race is heating up as voters prepare for the runoff election on Tuesday, with candidates Tim Keller and Darren White intensifying their campaigns through attack ads.

57,000 voters have already submitted their ballots early, as of Thursday evening — which is about a third of the total number of voters from last month's general election.

he final ads for both candidates are similar, with each using their opponent's language against them, according to KOAT political expert Brian Sanderoff.

Keller, a publicly financed candidate, has almost $19,000 on hand according to the latest filings, while White has nearly $22,000. Sanderoff noted that the ads are more contentious this election cycle, partially due to the increased funds available. "We're seeing more ads than normal, and they are a bit more contentious," he said.
