Related: About this forumAlbuquerque, NM has only one homicide detective
APD has only one homicide detective currently working on 28 homicides; and Albuquerque has 74 unsolved murders. I heard that on KOAT-TV channel #7s evening news today.
Shortly after that they showed a video clip of APDs new lowrider squad car. Its got fancy wheels, and the car bounces up and down as its driven down the street. I didnt hear how much that car cost us.
Maybe we should have invested in at least one more homicide detective? (one homicide detective currently working on 28 homicides; and Albuquerque has 74 unsolved murders)

(17,436 posts)A lot of fancy police vehicles are seizures. They usually sell them for cash for internal use, but sometimes they keep them.
Seizing property is profitable. Investigating murders or rapes is expensive.
Gotta kerp policing profitable.

Waste of time and money.

(17,436 posts)I don't get the conflict.
They use a lot of seized vehicles for undercover work, unmarked cars, and even squad cars for senior staff (captains cars).
Maybe they thought it would be funny to convert one.
Why would they buy one that way?
