Democrats in furious split over Christie's plan to kill newspaper jobs

Finally, Democrats in Trenton are revolting against a craven backroom deal struck by their leaders, a sign of life in a party that seems to have lost its moral compass.

"I am so disgusted with my colleagues," says Sen. Ray Lesniak (D-Union).

"There is no Democratic Party," says Sen. Loretta Weinberg. (D-Bergen).

"Where are our core values?" asks Sen. Richard Codey (D-Essex).

This was all music to me, because I wondered if I was losing my mind. Gov. Chris Christie is trying to ram through a bill that would kill about 300 newspaper jobs for no good reason -- an ugly act of revenge, his punishment for all the times we told the truth about his lies.
