Gov. Chris Christie is just one point away from tying the record for worst approval rating of any New Jersey governor in memory.
And an overwhelming majority of New Jersey voters think the Republican governor should have faced charges over the Bridgegate scandal, a new poll has found.
According to a Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll released Tuesday morning, Christies approval has dropped to 18 percent among New Jersey voters down from 21 percent in October.
Governor Christie has been abandoned by virtually everyone, which is a far cry from where he once sat atop a field of aspiring presidential candidates who cut a more polarizing figure than he did, poll director Krista Jenkins said in a release accompanying the results.

Christie freaked out over Christie Creme donut gag
The mayor of Fort Lees failure to endorse him wasnt the only thing irking New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in the months before the 2013 George Washington Bridge lane closings the governor was also freaked over a fake box of Christie Creme donuts, jurors in the Bridgegate trial heard Friday
Christie was very upset, according to interoffice texts, after the press published pictures of a mocked-up box of Christie Creme donuts the innocent joke, during an office bake-off, of a Statehouse intern. The box included this boast printed in a bright red starburst: Expanding Nationwide in 2016!!!
Christie was insisting at the time that he was only running for re-election, with no aspirations to the White House and he was apparently livid after stories broke saying that even his interns knew he was running for president
Nationwide in 2016!!!
Christie was insisting at the time that he was only running for re-election, with no aspirations to the White House and he was apparently livid after stories broke saying that even his interns knew he was running for president.
The donut debacle became known internally in Christies office as the dreaded Christie Creme incident, testified prosecution witness Christina Renna, who worked for the govs Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
Christie lit into Bridgegate defendant Bridget Anne Kelly over the presidentially predictive pastries, according to texts Renna showed jurors Friday. Kellys lawyer appears to be using this as further proof that she was just Christies pawn, buffeted by his whims.
