Clinton slams Trump for N.J. golf course's treatment of gay worker
TRENTON Campaigning in New Hampshire on Monday, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton criticized Republican rival Donald Trump for the treatment an employee at his Pine Hill golf course allegedly received after coming out as gay.
Clinton, accompanied in Manchester by U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, recited the story of Eleazar Andres, who claimed in a lawsuit that he was the subject of harassment after telling his co-workers of his sexual orientation.
Andres, of Lindenwold, said he was subject to anti-gay slurs and was hit with golf balls and rocks, while supervisors did nothing. He was fired after saying he could not go back to work because he didn't feel safe, the lawsuit claims.
"It is deeply disturbing that instead of stepping in to stop the tormentors, Trump's golf club turned on the victim for coming forward," Clinton said. "If that's how Donald Trump runs his business, what does that say about how he would run our country?
