Fresh bear poop in Voorhees State Park, this morning.

At least one bear is not in hibernation.

1. What Has Your Coldest Night Temp Been?

How about pattern of low temps in the last few weeks?

Or could this be a bear that has identified supplemental resources, both in terms of food and shelter?

I'm no expert, btw, just one interested in critters and the workings of the natural world.

3. about three days, near freezing. One day, upper 20's.

Mostly 40's and 50's since October.

4. Evidence was loaded with seeds.

5. Two big piles, about 1/4 mile apart. Plus the ones we probably didn't see.

Smarter than the average bear! Must be a lot of pickinic baskets with pies and sandwiches.
