Fucking over the Pine Barrens. Star-Ledger article today.

Off road vehicles and dirt bikes are destroying sections of the Pine Barrens.

D.E.P. uses a "both sides" argument to explain why the destruction is allowed to continue..... sports people have as much right to use the land as hikers and other environmentalists. So they do little.

Have you hiked the barrens and seen the damage?

Done several hikes off of Featherbed lane and the part that has the high hill.

Yes, it's worse. I suspect DEP rangers don't want to tangle with assholes. Last year, a couple of their bikes were confiscated. I'm hiking Brendan Byrne on Sunday.

I will look it up. We mostly go down late spring, early fall for something different to do on a Sunday morning.

And good people. Sometimes, parties and such.

There is only one Republican member that I know of. He's ok after he opens his mouth and I point out where he is wrong. He's a good person, otherwise. The rest of us are pretty much Dems. -- unusual for Hunterdon County.

Club was started in 1981.

I am treasurer. If you want information beyond the website, p.m. me.

Has been a long term issue in Essex County. Bikers can get right up into your face when you present the issue of the ecological damage resulting from erosion due to biking.

Assholes ride off road bikes on the trails. Cars with bike racks park in the dog park and Locust Grove. It would be easy to spot them on the trails and then wait for them to return to their cars.

But sheriff's officers don't want to get out of their cars for much of anything. They are basically useless.
