Our town, Maplewood, now has a masking requirement for alll indoor activities except while actually eating.
I can't see our citizens being so compliant without the right atmosphere, environment, whatever anyone wants to call it.
For example, Christie. What kind of environment would he have fostered?
When people see other people masking, they are likely to mirror that behavior.
It only takes a few rotten apples to spoil the bunch, as the cliche says. However, the Wall Street Journal printed an article about studies show that this is actually true. A few rotten apples do spoil the bunch and have already. that is what we are seeing nationally, thanks to trump and his four-years of impunity.

(3,645 posts)Southbound NJ Turnpike rest stop by exit 7 was uneven. I'd say 70% well masked, 10% loose, or open nose, 20% unmasked. On Thursday night ~9pm.
