The 63-year-old Nabsico plant in Fair Lawn will package its final boxes of sweet treats on Friday.
Parent company Mondelez International confirmed that Friday is the last day of production at the factory with the majority of the 600 employees having already moved on either retiring, accepting jobs with other businesses or transferring within the company.
Spokeswoman Laurie Guzzinati said Thursday she didnt have a breakdown of where employees ended up or how many were left jobless as a result of the closure.
The plant, a landmark in the borough since 1958, produces baked goods under the Nabisco brand, including staples such as Oreo, Lorna Doone and Teddy Grahams, with the sweet aroma a familiar scent for residents.

Smelled great when it was baking, too. I lived a couple of blocks from the place for a few years. It burned down, or as down as could be for such a big thing, in 2019. That didn't smell so good.
The Nabisco plant smelled pretty good, too, and popped up almost in front of you as you headed north on 208. That sign will be missed.

We take TONS of waste flour and dough out of their plant per week. This ends up being processed and made into chicken feed and sold to the high volume chicken farms.

If that's the case, I think there might want to be a boycott of Nabisco products.
