10 injured in mass shooting outside Trenton bar

TRENTON — Ten people were shot, including one person who has been whisked into emergency surgery, outside of a city bar early Saturday morning, police said.

Trenton Police Capt. Stephen Varn said five men and five women were hit by gunfire outside the Ramoneros Liquor & Bar, formerly J&J Liquor & Bar and the Stokes bar, on the 300 block of Brunswick Avenue shortly before 12:30 a.m.

One of the victims was apparently shot in the abdomen and was undergoing emergency surgery, the police spokesman said. He did not know the statuses of the other victims.

Police were in the early stages of the investigation the shooting, and no further details were available.
